When I was in HS, one of my friends flipped a coin between two *totally* different schools: a big state school v a tiny liberal arts school in two totally different parts of the country (neither of which was where we lived). Loved her coin flip winner so much she is now a professor there! Another friend knew the Ivy she wanted to go to from day 1 of 7th grade (double legacy and her older brother ended up going there too a few years later). She absolutely hated it and transferred to a school in the city we grew up in (solid school but way less prestigious than where she could have gotten in coming straight from HS/where she transferred from). It totally worked out for both of them in the end (and the second friend blew my mind by choosing grad school at the Ivy she transferred out of and loving it the second time around). But being more sure doesn’t always mean being more right and lots of kids would be happy at many different schools. Good luck to all![/quote]
