I didn’t like it.  I flipped through it in Barnes and Nobel and thought there was a lot of talk about weight that may not be applicable to all tween girls.  For instance they have a lot of Q and A type write ins where girls are asking if they are fat, saying they feel fat and everyone else seems thin, just a lot of “am I fat, I want to be skinny” type stuff.  They address is appropriately but that isn’t on my daughter’s radar and I don’t want her to get the idea that most teenage girls think of themselves as fat or wanting to be “thin”

Ugh, thanks so much for this! I still remember my mother giving my cousin a barbie for her birthday one year and my aunt pulling her aside telling her they don't do barbies because she didn't want her daughter to think that was a normal body type. I was older and even then I *never* would have thought that was something to aspire to. Anyway, you do you but I completely agree, I don't want to introduce this when it's not even something on my DD's radar. [/quote]
