My 13 yo sprained his ankle. It seems mild and he’s dying to get back to playing, but I’d like to have a PT look at it. We are in MoCo. He’s walking on it pretty well 3 days post injury , can jog lightly, can juggle, has good ROM and we are keeping it in a brace. Any ideas or advice? My husband played soccer in college and is of the just let him play mondset.
I was a soccer player for 20 years (female) and had tons of strained ankles. I’m of the same mindset as your husband. I rolled my ankle this week stepping off curb to avoid someone and back to everything at 51. If there is something else going on (my son had a growth plate fracture in ankle at 10) it won’t get better and you’ll know. But I was told even playing on it then was more of a nuisance than long term damage. They put a cast on 3 weeks and 5 years later he’s never had an issue. I grew up in the “walk it off” era😂
