Rush it back now, it'll be reoccurring. Get somebody to check this out.

They are great and specialize in young athletes.

I can also recommend Healthy Baller They have several PTs that are great. They also have a great staff of performance coaches as well. My son did his ACL rehab there and is now playing college soccer without the need of a brace.

I was a soccer player for 20 years (female) and had tons of strained ankles. I’m of the same mindset as your husband.

I rolled my ankle this week stepping off curb to avoid someone and back to everything at 51.

If there is something else going on (my son had a growth plate fracture in ankle at 10) it won’t get better and you’ll know. But I was told even playing on it then was more of a nuisance than long term damage. They put a cast on 3 weeks and 5 years later he’s never had an issue.

I grew up in the “walk it off” era😂

I wouldn’t rush back too quickly as re-injury can occur especially at the ankles. I typically let it rest for a week depending upon the severity of the ankle sprains.

I wouldn't wear a brace. If it feel OK, have him continue to strengthen and work on range of motion with balancing on a Bosu ball or something equally unstable.
