I took a trigger shot Tuesday evening and had an IUI Thursday morning. I had a positive opk on Thursday (test line darker than control) and I took another test this morning and see the test line is still darker than the control. Did I not ovulate yet? We tried on our own after the IUI last night to cover bases, but should I be trying again tonight? Have already started hormone support vaginally.
You can try again (no harm), but a trigger shot pretty much guarantees ovulation 36 hrs later. The opk will remain positive for quite sometime (as will a hpt) because the trigger contains hcg which will give you a false positive opk. Additionally, even if you didn’t take a trigger, you ovulate 24-48 hours after your first positive opk and there is no point in continuing to test.
