All of these threads on students getting rejected from schools like Vanderbilt, Emory and other big names make me wonder where are the students getting in that have say a 3.5 weighted GPA and 1200 SAT? I have a younger highschooler and this will probably be where she falls.
The biggest question will be whether you can pay for private or OOS college in full. If yes, your DC will have tons of options. If not, make sure she has some in-state publics that are safeties for a student like DC on the list. If you're in Maryland, UMBC, Salisbury, maybe St. Mary's. In Virginia, Longwood, ODU, Radford, Mary Washington. JMU, GMU, VCU, and CNU would not be safeties.
