Let her know that you empathize and that you are available and open to working with her if she needs anything right now, but please don’t keep bringing it up. I will offer for consideration, telling her that you are here for her but would like to let her know that you are taking her lead on. I find that it's somewhat awkward to say, but being very clear about your reason for your behavior can avoid misunderstanding. I've been in situations where one party felt like they were givings someone space and another party thought their struggles were being ignored. [/quote]
