My 10 year old has no interest in keeping up his appearance and wouldn’t even take a bath or shower I’d we didn’t force him. It’s nice that he still doesn’t care about clothes and is happy to wear whatever is at the top of his drawer from Old Navy or Target. If notice some of his friends are starting to wear more styled hair cuts and more coordinated clothes. No real complaints, just curious when others sons have started to care more about their clothes etc.
From observing DS's friends, 10-12 seems to be the age range in which this shift happens. Although he is showing more interest in hygiene and skin care (with a lot of initial prompting from DH and I), 13 yo DS still has no interest in style. Despite my efforts to help, sigh.
