Every time I have used OPKs I have had similar results as you - never a "high peak". but have still gotten pregnant. Sometimes if you are only testing once a day you miss it. I have had people suggest testing twice a day once you get the high day result. good luckl!
Thanks for this! I've been testing twice (or three times!) a day and still haven't seen the solid smiley. Today I have to decide if I send back donor sperm to try again next month or just assume I ovulated and go ahead with the insemination and hope for the best. Arg so stressful! :-( I'm leaning toward doing the insemination anyway but it's really disappointing -- last time I used these, I got a nice clear reading.
If you usually get clear readings, then I don't think you've ovulated yet this cycle (unless your tests could be off for some other reason?). Unfortunately I think the insemination would probably be a waste. So sorry, these delays are so frustrating!
I mean the last time was the time I got pregnant with my first, so I don't know if that's why I'm reacting differently now -- I'm still nursing, although I've had consistent periods for the last nine months, so it's all very ???
Ah, got it. Well, would it be a financial burden to do the insemination for low odds? If not, it can't hurt. Can you go into your RE/OB for monitoring? Bloodwork and an ultrasound could tell you if you're pre or post ovulation.
Honestly, I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from the midwife group I'm working with and my decision will probably come from their recommendation (which may involve bloodwork) combined with whether I can sort the shipping for today. If I'm not able to ship the sperm back low odds are better than the no odds of not even trying. But it's all just very frustrating. Next cycle, I'm using multiple OPKs! Anyway, hope this month works out for you!
