My 6 yo is a k dropout. She says hello maybe twice a week and we peace. She hate zoom and walks away. I have to worry about my job and stopped fighting for my sanity. So basically we miss the whole thing. I can’t afford a tutor or help. I really can’t do my job virtually either but my boss is taking pitty on me.
Can you work with her on the weekends to make up the work? You could prioritize reading and math and fit in whatever else you can do. DL also doesn’t work for my daughter, but I know she does need to learn the material.
+1. You should at least try to make an effort on weekend mornings or something.
+2 we've had to supplement and catch our first grader up on the weekends and nights and it was pretty easy. Don't give up! Kids are resilient and honestly, homeschoolers cover the same amount of information in a fraction of the time. So can you. To answer the OP: The only thing my kids miss is any asynchronous time with ST Math/MYON. Those are complete wastes of time and I will not force my kids to do them. I have them go over math concepts or read actual books.
