904 tests at main campus. They have 38,000 students.
That’s 904 tests administered in the first 11 days of February. They did 7,648 “re-entry” test at the beginning of the semester at the main campus with a 1.11% positivity rate. Out of the 904 current tests, there were 24 positives (2.88%). By the way, the national stories of high case #s from the fall misrepresented the situation in Tuscaloosa. A huge # of the cases being counted were from medical faculty and staff at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, which is the biggest treatment hospital for severe covid cases in the state, and dated back to the spring. Here’s the dashboard. https://uasystem.edu/covid-19/dashboard
