What DCPS should have done was shift to 6 weeks off around Thanksgiving/Christmas and then go to school in the summer. DCPS can’t just decide to add more days onto the contract without paying more. It’s the same thing that happened during summer bridge (volunteer basis). [/quote] My kids used to go to school eight hours per day, five days per week. Now they get a couple hours per day, four days per week. They now get about as much instruction per week as they used to get each and every day. [/quote]
