At least according to this. [/quote] My kid's teacher told me that kids are placed in Lexia based on their weakest skill, not their overall level. Lexia then fills in any gaps. If kids are only missing a skill here or there, I believe they should be able to move up through levels fairly quickly. Their "level" doesnt mean much overall. For example, it's possible that your daughter got a low-ish placement because she has forgotten her parts of speech and needs review in that area, even though she reads above grade level.[/quote]
