I hear a lot of people, in general, criticize *this* president. And I was wondering if people aren't wanting their kids to hear the speech because it's coming from Obama or if they are against having their kids hear this type of speech from *any* president. The first one bothers me. The second one does not. [/quote] There were a lot of people who didn't like Bush Jr. I won't be surprised by a lot of people criticizing Obama. Either case doesn't bother me. However it sounds too much if parents selectively want or not want their elementary school kids to hear speech from whatever president intended for young kids. Schools provide 'opt out' option I guess to be 'appropriate'. I just think 'sigh up' option should be more 'appropriate'. [/quote]
