I was going to make Italian sausage and squash for dinner earlier this week. I went ahead and added a couple apples as well, thinking it would be a nice balance since my sausage was the spicy variety. I added some chicken stock then let it cook down a bit to thicken, served over rice. It was a huge hit with DH and DS. Will definitely be making it again but might try it with apple cider next time.
