It's really not a big deal. My kid has been playing while wearing one since July. Some trial and error but now they're used to it and it's fine. And please stop trying to get out of this or around it. That's not good sportsmanship, any more than pretending you're wearing shin guards is sportsmanlike. Covid is not going anywhere and is as dangerous now as it was in March-April. Yes we have testing -- and that's why we're not in lockdown anymore. But we need to manage our risk. So we get soccer, and we also get masks. Better than lockdown!
I get this.....but have you seen 1 just 1 report of an outbreak from outdoor sports? People have gone mad.....I understand that indoor activities are risky but playing sports outside or doing anything outside frankly (outside of a tight concert environment) is not risky!!!
Google Danbury, CT. Contact tracing of outbreak to youth soccer.
There is very little information about that though. Youth soccer was cited as one of many factors that lead to a spike in COVID cases, including international travel. Incidentally, this spike came after part of the city had no power for a week or more. S
