We JUST switched day cares/preschool. We put down $2000 deposit and they have postponed opening until Sept due to FCPS scheduled which they follow. I am so frustrated. They will also charge us for the missed two weeks. FCPS is doing this for training logistical needs which doesn’t apply to day care/ preschool. Anyone else? Should I just get a nanny?
If you want consistent, uninterrupted care - yes.
This has to be the funniest quote on all of DCUM. An nanny is far from consistent, interrupted care. They are one person and get sick with no additional nanny to substitute. They have personal issues with no substitute. They are tired with no co teacher to help so any type of programming suffers. And they get vacation and holidays. Finally they can leave you without warning with no backup. Hilarious statement.
Except any school that follows FCPS will end up closing on a whim. The leadership is terrible and can’t be trusted to make reasonable decisions. Op’s preschool is apparently blindly following them, which I would not be happy with. In the middle of a pandemic, I’d say a nanny is far more likely to provide consistent care than any school that follows FCPS.
