The main point is that the only way to reopen schools is to keep the rate of transmission in the community (not the schools) low. We do this by scaling back higher risk activities. The choice is bars or schools. We are not going to be able to have both. Instead of stomping your feet and demanding in person school, why are you not stomping your feet and demanding more sensible actions to reduce the spread of the virus in the community?
