Are virtual piano lessons effective?  I have my doubts about the effectiveness but it seems like I don't have much choice in this matter.  Piano lessons can be expensive so I am so hesitant to throw money toward the lessons. For those who are having good virtual piano lessons, can anyone share their teachers with me?  I am hoping to find a teacher who would prepare my for competitions/certificates and teaches some theory. Or, just how do I go about looking for a good piano teacher?

It would be preferable if we continue with the teacher after the pandemic is over so a teacher who are located near where we live would be ideal.  Rockville/Potomac/Gaithersburg area would be great.  Thank you all for your help!

My daughter is 6 and takes virtual piano lessons. Her teacher is not taking new students right now. However, I can speak to the experience. Overall, it's been good; however, I think it's due in part to the fact that my daughter was taking lessons before the pandemic began, and made a transition to virtual lessons with the same teacher. I'm not sure how effective virtual lessons might be for a student starting from scratch, or taking up lessons again.
