Our club has not sent any communication on current status of the team for next season. I don’t know if my DS is staying with his current team. We were aiming for him to go to ECNL team but have not received any email telling us if he made it or not. If other team players received their invitations I guess the silence from the club means we need to be reading out a different club. We are in disadvantage given the current situation that doesn’t allow for tryouts.
Don't stress out about it. Because of COVID, it is unclear when the ECNL season will start and it is possible that it will be a throw away year anyway. You can try out with ECNL clubs after the season starts. Coaches normally save a couple of spots for impact outside players to come in the middle of the season. If your son is a borderline ECNL player, he may be better off with a lower level team (e.g. top team in non-ECNL club or a second team in the ECNL club), where he will get more playing time. ECNL teams generally have larger rosters than regular teams and starters get more playing time than players that come off the bench. If he is not getting sufficient playing time, it will hinder his development.
