How will MA team get 20 games in if the region is split. I assume six away and six home games for VA teams involving all VA teams and two NC teams. If a VA team plays all six southern teams, then that is just 18 games total. How will ECNL manage the last two games? Is it true that ECNL will allow VA teams to schedule MD ECNL teams?
It certainly gets trickier with different HS seasons between MD and VA. ECNL became a very pro HS Soccer league when it suited them and it will find it hard to back out now over Division realignment issues. So the only real way for MD and VA to play against each other is during the winter, when kids are also likely playing HS winter sports. They could have solved this by adding the DA clubs in the area, but ECNL is gonna ECNL
Not all ECNL teams are doing HS soccer. NC Courage and CSA are on a 10-month training schedule, HS soccer not allowed per directors.....will find outside-the-conference games or friendlies to play during Spring.
