If you have to be extremely accurate at guessing in order to guess correctly for a particular person, then that person looks younger (or older) than they are. I don't think the saying means that no one could ever guess, but that most people couldn't tell the age during a casual interaction. I don't look 10 years younger, but I've met plenty of people who look younger than they are (often AA, Asian, middle eastern) and I have average skills when it comes to guessing age.[/quote]
