So in the Arlington GA thread there is talk about mutual non-compete among local clubs.
Well 2008’s now have Clyde as their primary coach. Many will stay for the exposure and all have been guaranteed spots. Cant argue with Clyde’s track record as the girls get toward high school no matter how much of an ASA booster you are. I call BS on arlington giving outside offers at this point. Many area clubs agreed to not actively recruit from each other’s rosters during the pandemic so arlington would be flying in the face of yhat... First I've heard of a mutual non-compete clause for outside players. What clubs have agreed to do this?
https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/75/878490.page I have heard from two friends who were looking to changes clubs but the new clubs are not responding. This would explain it. One friend was excited because the new club cost significantly less then his kid’s current club. The other had talked to a coach at the new club and was told(unofficial) her kid would make their first team. So now both have to stay where they are until the clubs decides to let them go? It seems very unfair specially to kids. They have such a short period of time to play. How true do you think this is? Do you think it is legal(antitrust)?
Stop. This is about the DMVunited publicity stunt early in the shutdown. It is nothing more than marketing. If all the clubs were colluding in the market, you do indeed have a serious violation of the law. The soccer year is over, people and clubs can do what they like.
No it just takes two. I was in an industry that was watched by the feds for anti trust(think bid fixing and drawing up territories). There were a few big players and a bunch of small players. They busted two big players for working together, a few years later they busted some small players. Now I doubt the feds watch youth soccer for antitrust lol. Maybe they should!
