It’s hard to justify paying people their full salaries when they cannot do their job remotely. And as far as our own compensation goes, it will definitely be impacted. Lots of employers are doing lay offs, pay cuts, and at best, withholding or diminishing bonuses. It gets unsustainable to keep paying nannies at full salary when they’re not actually working, you’re trying to do their job and your own, and your own income is being potentially impacted. It’s obviously a personal decision but for many people, childcare is a large, substantial expense that’s not sustainable without the actual help. [/quote]
