We will pay in full for the first 5 weeks- we've been quarantining since early March- and will move to half pay for at least this month. She normally lives with us and does not have any dependents, so she had the flexibility to stay with us during this period. We asked if she would consider quarantining with us so she could continue to watch our LO, and offered to compensate her additionally to do so while her hours would remain unchanged. We feel that we offered her a reasonable way to continue working during these circumstances, as well as a reasonable period of full compensation when she opted not to. I might get flamed for it, but this is the agreement we reached, and I want to represent on this board that it is not feasible for everyone to continue paying their nannies in full when they won't be working potentially for a long period of time, during what is a financially uncertain time for most of us.
Live-in nanny here. You are being overly generous. She’s normally a live-in, but moved out to avoid working, yet still wants to be paid. Nope, no way.

I think you were being too generous. What was her reason for not living with you, even though she usually does? She doesn’t seem to care about your family at all. I would have fired her.
