As a gal, I would be irked and put out by this. Too annoying.  Order fancy take out in.  All kinds of restaurants are doing take out.  And who celebrates every birthday with friends etc? Not me — such a fuss. [b] Are you guys under 25 per chance? [/b][/quote]

Ha. We are late 30s. My DH is a social guy and I think he would really enjoy seeing his friends so I liked the PP's suggestion. I am thinking of organizing the Zoom thing for a "happy hour" and then do a low-key dinner. We don't celebrate most birthdays with friends and have been so isolated. Still not sure what to do for the meal. Someone upthread suggested fondue. I do have a fondue pot I never use so maybe that can factor into dessert...
