What is the point of this? Are you all in your teens?

We did zoom happy hour with friends the other day and it was nice. I just wouldn’t include too many as it could make the flow of conversation difficult.

Cocktail hour with friends on Zoom, then dinner from Rasika at home

I really like this idea - thank you!

OP

As a guy I would think this is the dumbest thing ever. It’s one birthday. He will be fine with something low key just with you.

As a gal, I would be irked and put out by this. Too annoying. Order fancy take out in. All kinds of restaurants are doing take out. And who celebrates every birthday with friends etc? Not me — such a fuss. Are you guys under 25 per chance?

Ha. We are late 30s. My DH is a social guy and I think he would really enjoy seeing his friends so I liked the PP's suggestion. I am thinking of organizing the Zoom thing for a "happy hour" and then do a low-key dinner. We don't celebrate most birthdays with friends and have been so isolated. Still not sure what to do for the meal. Someone upthread suggested fondue. I do have a fondue pot I never use so maybe that can factor into dessert...

Many

Is his favorite restaurant offering curbside pickup. I would not go into a restaurant, but would be willing to let them put it in my car.

My husband's birthday is coming up and I expect we will still be social distancing at home.

What are some fun things I could do to make it more creative and special than just another nice dinner at home? We'd be celebrating on a work night for his actual birthday and we're in Minneapolis so it's usually too cold in the evenings to hang out in nature. So I am assuming indoors.

I'm due with our first baby in a few weeks and wish we could go out for a last big night on the town but alas.

Thanks in advance for ideas!
