PSA to pedestrians: Wear reflective clothing and assume the cars cannot see you no matter how slowly they are driving; you are invisible. Everyone in my family has reflective gear for night and rain. Absolutely essential.
Cars can't see pedestrians but drivers should be able to. If you can't see a pedestrian at 9am in broad daylight in a crosswalk then 1) you aren't looking for pedestrians (they are, in fact, not invisible, they are people) and 2) you shouldn't be driving. Also, crosswalks are reflective paint on the ground at the end of each intersection- if you can't see that then again, you should not be driving.
