As well as pedestrians all wearing black or gray.Put some color on people, or some reflective tape. It might help the fast driving jerks see you.

We should probably ban driving when it’s raining out. Way too risky.

I thought PSAs were supposed to provide helpful information the general population. This is not a PSA.

The OP said that he was waiting to cross and the car stopped at a light in the middle of the crosswalk at the light. No one walked in front of the car. The driver was the one not paying attention. Learn to read, PP.

Driving a large car does not absolve you from the need to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. No one said anything about stepping out into the crosswalk with eyes glued to phone. And even if a pedestrian is looking at his phone you still need to stop. You know this, there are signs that say that mark pedestrians crossings and they occur at regular intervals at the end of the intersection. You can use your brain, I know you can!!

If you can't see people in marked crosswalks during the morning commute unless they're wearing highlighter yellow, then you can't see well enough to be allowed to drive.

Cars can't see pedestrians but drivers should be able to. If you can't see a pedestrian at 9am in broad daylight in a crosswalk then 1) you aren't looking for pedestrians (they are, in fact, not invisible, they are people) and 2) you shouldn't be driving.

Also, crosswalks are reflective paint on the ground at the end of each intersection- if you can't see that then again, you should not be driving.

I get that your vision is reduced by the rain, so please be extra careful when driving in the rain to be aware of pedestrians trying to cross in crosswalks, etc. Remember that pedestrians are colder and wetter than you so please err on the side of slowing down as you approach crosswalks and do not block crosswalks if you might get stuck at a red light.

Someone who almost got hit by a car who ignored the crosswalk, then stopped in the crosswalk, blocking all pedestrians. Our choice was to go around the driver into a puddle or wait through the next light- the driver gained zero time by being three feet further but inconvenienced many already soaking wet people.
