I’ve never understood why parents put their kids to bed early (6, 7, or 8 pm) and then wonder why their kids wake up so early. Am I missing something?? DD has always been a late sleeper (9 pm) and she has never, ever woken up early.
For many parents, moving bedtime later backfires with the kid having disrupted sleep and waking up even earlier. I tried for years to get my kids to bed later hoping they would sleep in, and it never worked. They would wake up at the same time consistently, but grouchier.
+1 DD2 has always been an early riser. We have blackout curtains, a noise machine, etc. But no matter how later we put her to bed, she would still rise anytime from 5:30-6:30. We’re just thankful she’s done with the 4 am phase.
