Here are the instructions our ped gives is - Let the stomach rest (no liquids or food) 1-2 hours Water or pedialite 1-3 tablespoons every 3-5 min. Start with 1 tablespoon every 5 min and work up to 3 tablespoons every 3 min if she want it - don’t force it. Start bland food after 4 hours if she feels like it - apple sauce, rice, tortillas, bread, banana, poached chicken. Once she feels like eating, focus on bland protein over juice. If the puking turns to diarrhea the Sugar in the juice makes it worse.
This was the advice we received on the nurses line a couple nights ago except it was 2-3 teaspoons to start with (which I guess 3 tsp is 1 Tbsp so same thing). My daughter couldn’t keep down a teaspoon of water after several tries throughout the day so we ended up at urgent care where the options were IV fluids or Zofran to rehydrate her. Good luck, hope she feels better!!!
