I never say how I am paying until the deal is fully negotiated and they never ask. Yes, OP you need a personal check. Also, most dealerships will let you put some on a CC, the amount varies by dealership. We always put the maximum we can on the card (cash back) and then right a personal check for the rest. But we always know we are buying a car and plan accordingly.[/quote]
