Thank you, this is my point. It ISN'T normal.  Most malicious gossip like this is actually not true.

So  many girls of all of our generations were slut shamed when they are were actually victims of sexual assault.

Sometimes gossip is true. It’s still gossip, but it is still the truth. If it’s painting a large group of girls as promiscuous, it’s probably untrue. If there’s consistent rumors about just one girl, it might be worth alerting the counselor. Unfortunately, there are girls who are in a bad situation and using sex to try to survive physically or emotionally. My cousin was like that. She had a really horrific decade starting at 13. This isn’t about girls making a decision about their bodies. It’s about exploitation and health risks.[/quote]
