I see a lot of you use a retinaldehyde serum. I've been using it for a couple of months (max strength) and want to transition to Tretinoin in January. Of course, I will be seeing my dermatologist. I was wondering if I can transition slowly using Tretinoin 0.05% to start once a week and alternate days with retinaldehyde or a couple of times a week in a 7-day period?
Once a week seems a little weak. You only need a very small dab, like half a pea, to cover your face. The thing is that if you never used prescription strength tretinoin, your skin will most likely take a hit when you start - redness, peeling, you name it. you just have to go through it and wait it out. If you are doing it once a week, it seems to me you're delaying the inevitable.
