It can be, but it's really gimmicky with all the different programs and point systems etc etc. Just tracking calories with MFP etc is much simpler (and free).
I find it much easier to track points and have "free" foods with WW than to track every single calorie. And the WW system basically incentivizes you to eat more foods that are filling and healthy (fruit, lean protein, veg) by not having to track it. So all you end up having to count are the food that are high calorie and tend to be over-eaten (carbs, fats, processed foods). It works well for me as long as I actually track! Counting every single calorie is a pain and doesn't teach you what a filling, healthy, sustainable diet is, IMO.

I do WW at work and the leader assured everyone that if they like the current version that remains one of the options. I am actually interested in the simply filling variant as that is the direction I am moving towards.

I started again recently and things are going well on it but I just got an email saying "In 3 days, meet your NEW weight loss program." Are they changing it AGAIN? I've finally got down a system that's working and don't really feel like starting from scratch. But I use the online app which will update so I can't just keep using the old points. Does anyone know anything about this?
