This morning I was at a small shopping mall in an unfamiliar part of town. I pulled into a left hand turn lane and was stopped at a red light. There weren't any cars behind me. I was focused on figuring out what route to take to my next destination. There was a median beside me on the left. A car coming from the road turned into the shopping mall and stopped beside me (car going opposite direction) on the other side of the median. I rolled down my window as the man inside was gesturing at me. For this guy to stop he is now blocking the entrance to the mall. He proceeds to yell at me. What the hell is wrong with you? Are you retarded? Can't you see you in a bus lane - only buses from 7-9? How can people be so f'ing stupid. He screams at me for about 30 seconds and then drives off. He was well dressed - dress shirt and well groomed and looked like a very typical everyday probably 35-45 year old guy. I didn't even answer as it took me half the time to figure out what he was mad about and then he didn't even really take a breath. At first I was annoyed but then I thought - what kind of life had that guy had? What has happened to him that he has that much rage simmering under the surface. That has to be an awful way to live. Made me very grateful for my own life. I get irritated but have never felt so much anger that I would explode at a stranger.
