The landlord who lives elsewhere doesn’t care about the neighborhood at all and just wants to make as much money as possible. The NYC video has zero relevance here. I don't know why the PP posted it.

And based on the large number of comments about race/ethnicity from people opposed to ADUs (and extended/multiple families sharing housing in general), including right here on DCUM, I'm going to say that yes, it actually has a whole lot to do with race/ethnicity.
