Our neighbor had a gf a year ago who called the cops on him in the middle of the night because he locked her outside in just a t-shirt and panties for refusing sex. The cops helped her get her clothing and purse and gave her a ride home. They reunited a few weeks ago but have been fighting since 5 am. I need to accompany DH to the hospital for day long testing. DD’s best friend is going on vacation for the day. At 13, DD is too old for a sitter, but I’m worried about leaving her alone all day with the volatile situation across the courtyard. She’d be bored stiff at the hospital all day. Should I just give her $50 and insist she go to the library and our version of “downtown”?
DP Or sometimes your kid has to do something that is boring. Do you have games or a movie she could watch while at the hospital? It is only one day. Surely she can "suck it up" and do this. Or come with you and you can go to the movies for a few hours. That's another option.
