Certainly telling, but not curious. 
There simply aren't enough good teams in CCL to make it worth while for the best teams. 
Let's face it, there are about two or three clubs in CCL that are significant better than the others. Since they don't have any kind of pro/rel, you either have your team play up an age, or try to find better competition elsewhere, which is why the big clubs are starting to put their top teams in EDP and their second teams in CCL.
