Does anybody know if a follow up with your OB is required and/or necessary once your betas start dropping? I passed all of the tissue (I think) over the weekend. Due to work conflicts and scheduling conflicts with P&M I cannot get in for another 2 or 3 weeks. At that point is it even necessary to have a follow up ultrasound? I am leaning toward just not doing anything since my body seems to be taking care of the miscarriage itself. I just don't have time, nor the inclination to go back to the doctors again and spend more money on an unnecessary ultrasound. Also do you really need to monitor your beta all the way back down to zero? It has already started to fall per my last blood test on Sunday.
Yes, you do. Just saw this...I just posted a reply on your thread in the Expecting forum, but I wanted to reply here, in case this ever pops up in a search. It is very important that you do follow-up bloodwork to ensure that your betas end up negative following a loss. Hopefully, if you've passed all of the tissue, then this will be a quick process for you. I'm really sorry, OP.
OP here - thanks for responding. I didn't actually think of what a horrible extended process this would be once I started miscarrying. Between work and other life issues I just have no idea if I have time to get to the doctors. I guess I will have to try.
