For more sophisticated than what you’re proposing.[/quote] I'm not the OP, so I'm not "proposing" anything, primarily because it already exists. But I ride on those vans pretty regularly for work, and have friends with the auto access seat linked above. They don't have some magic sophisticated system. Someone who uses a mobility device other than a chair needs to either climb stairs, or ride up standing on a shaky lift. Compared to that, the auto access seat is much smoother. More to the point, people with disabilities, age related or others, need both options for traveling with alone (a need that can be served by the shared van services), but also for traveling with friends and family members. The idea that something like Metro Access is a substitute for being able to get in a car driven by a family member, and go somewhere with them, is a little weird. [/quote]
