A 3.8 GPA is high GPA unweighted. Example of recent matriculations for a top private that doesnt rank: https://www.holton-arms.edu/scholar/college-counseling/matriculation Of those who went to national universities, fewer kids attend ones ranked below 50 than 30 or higher (and same for SLACs). DD did not attend this school but one of similar rigor/reputation. She had good ECs, a 3.8 GPA and took honors all 4 years in all classes. We are professional but not anywhere near Z list type family; she attends Penn. [/quote]
