I have a five year old who’s been there since it opened at age 2 and a 2 year old who started at 3 months. Get on the waitlist now! With this area, it can be anywhere from 6 months to 14 months. With my older son, we had to do a nanny share for two years because we didn’t get in and I even took 6 months maternity leave. For the infants, I highly recommend Ms. Zhane, Ms. Bianca and Ms. Nikki. My son was in Bianca and Nikki’s classroom and they were better than my nanny at communication, supporting our family’s needs and my son’s growth and development. Overall the teachers and administration are great. The facility is gorgeous. They have very healthy food for a large corporate based center and lovely play places. The playground and movement matters area are fantastic. The classrooms are clean. The curriculum is the World at our Fingertips and they teach baby sign language that my two year old still uses and mindfulness and yoga. This is not the place if you want your three year old doing worksheets abd sutting at a desk all day. I work in early childhood, so I wanted a center that fosters creative play. That being said, my five year old knows more than most adults about science and math, diversity and is pre reading and writing. The older classes have a class pet and they do a lot of engaging lessons. Like the other poster said, I love that they have an app. They send pictures and updates everyday. I also like how they invest in their employees and provide full tuition scholarships for the child development credential associates, BA, MA and Ph.D. I’ve seen teachers advance professionally and personally due to the commitment of the company. I love the sense of community even though it’s not affiliated with a federal agency. You will pay a premium but it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind we have as our teachers are part of our village. My husband and I live walking distance of the center and metro into DC. There is a stroller storage area if you walk and there is free 30 minute parking in the garage for pick up and drop offs with reserved spots and you can also purchase a monthly parking pass if you tell them you are with Bright Horizons.
