I only have the information for toddlers and twos, but hopefully it gives you a sense of cost.
Toddlers: $2,660 a month
Twos: $2,220 a month

Yes the Carlin springs bright horizons location is closing as it was connected to Virginia hospital center and they have some sort of land swap agreement or something. Bright horizons from what I’ve heard is trying to help those families place in other centers so I would anticipate lists may be a little more difficult. From what I heard the Carlin springs location closes in July.

And I can’t tell you how much the teachers mean to our family. Many of them babysit for us outside of school. My children don’t want to leave the center because they love it. The administration and all teachers know my children by their first names. There is very open communication and even if you don’t agree with a decision there is transparency. I also like that the regional manager and Vice President of operations are communicative. The center isn’t five years old so they aren’t as established as other centers and there we’re sime growing pains at the beginning with leadership, but the current admin team is fantastic and the teachers are incredibly dedicated and smart, loving people.

I have a five year old who’s been there since it opened at age 2 and a 2 year old who started at 3 months. Get on the waitlist now! With this area, it can be anywhere from 6 months to 14 months. With my older son, we had to do a nanny share for two years because we didn’t get in and I even took 6 months maternity leave.

For the infants, I highly recommend Ms. Zhane, Ms. Bianca and Ms. Nikki. My son was in Bianca and Nikki’s classroom and they were better than my nanny at communication, supporting our family’s needs and my son’s growth and development. Overall the teachers and administration are great. The facility is gorgeous. They have very healthy food for a large corporate based center and lovely play places. The playground and movement matters area are fantastic. The classrooms are clean. The curriculum is the World at our Fingertips and they teach baby sign language that my two year old still uses and mindfulness and yoga.

This is not the place if you want your three year old doing worksheets abd sutting at a desk all day. I work in early childhood, so I wanted a center that fosters creative play. That being said, my five year old knows more than most adults about science and math, diversity and is pre reading and writing. The older classes have a class pet and they do a lot of engaging lessons. Like the other poster said, I love that they have an app. They send pictures and updates everyday. I also like how they invest in their employees and provide full tuition scholarships for the child development credential associates, BA, MA and Ph.D. I’ve seen teachers advance professionally and personally due to the commitment of the company.

I love the sense of community even though it’s not affiliated with a federal agency. You will pay a premium but it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind we have as our teachers are part of our village. My husband and I live walking distance of the center and metro into DC. There is a stroller storage area if you walk and there is free 30 minute parking in the garage for pick up and drop offs with reserved spots and you can also purchase a monthly parking pass if you tell them you are with Bright Horizons.

Our child is there now (infant). The waitlist was pretty long. If you are expecting in October and want a spot, I’d get on now. The facility is rather new and seems clean. Since it’s a Bright Horizon’s they use an app to send you updates on your child throughout the day. We’ve been pretty happy so far. No major complaints.

Does anyone have feedback or thoughts on the Bright Horizons in Old Town? Specifically, the community care one, not the one mainly serving the USPTO.

We are looking at their infant care and have a baby due in October 2019. We plan to start care in Jan 2020. We have a tour scheduled for next month because they are solid booked to even meet with us.

Any recent experiences and thoughts on their facility? Staff? Care?

ALSO- what’s the wait list time like? Can anyone let me know how long it took for them to get a call for infant care off the list? We are trying to plan ahead and are planning a potential move to that neighborhood but won’t move if getting into care there is far fetched/unlikely.
