An excessive amount of ketones in the blood is called ketosis. When the kidneys filter ketones into the urine, the condition is called ketonuria and can be detected by urine ketone tests. If enough ketones accumulate in the blood, they can cause a potentially life-threatening chemical imbalance known as ketoacidosis. https://www.diabetesselfmanagement.com/diabetes-resources/definitions/ketones/
Dietary ketosis is not the same thing as ketoacidosis. Avoiding processed junk is not going to send you to the hospital. And, no, you don't need rice, bread and pasta to survive although you might very much want those foods. You can eat like crap on any diet. If I choose to eat pork rinds and nacho cheese sauce every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner because it's "Keto friendly" that would not be healthy. Likewise, if you call yourself a "vegetarian" and eat nothing but potato chips and soda pop that would not be a healthy diet.
+1. I eat almost no processed foods. I’m not eating buffalo wings and bacon at every meal. Lots of vegetables, berries, good fats like avocado, olive oil, coconut milk. I limit dairy and can’t have gluten.
