Dietary ketosis is not the same thing as ketoacidosis. Avoiding processed junk is not going to send you to the hospital. And, no, you don't need rice, bread and pasta to survive although you might very much want those foods.
You can eat like crap on any diet. If I choose to eat pork rinds and nacho cheese sauce every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner because it's "Keto friendly" that would not be healthy.
Likewise, if you call yourself a "vegetarian" and eat nothing but potato chips and soda pop that would not be a healthy diet.
