OP, do you come from a particular faith tradition that has elements you would like to replicate. I'm queer and grew up in Quaker and UU congregations. I took my daughter to a UCC church and the people were lovely and welcoming, but it was a little too heavily Jesus-focused for me because I come from a more humanist perspective, but maybe UCC would work for you, or a welcoming and affirming Methodist church?
not the OP but the Methodist church as a whole is not very welcoming. Individual churches may be but they still have rules to follow. I would stick with Episcopalian.
Methodists are going through some stuff on this front right now. It's something I'd really want to know about how a specific church was reacting before going regularly. I just googled "open and affirming churches near me" and came up with a bunch of options - ended up at a Baptist church (in NoVa, not MD, sorry), which was new to me but a really welcoming community.
