Huh. If your education was so poor that you cannot teach your elementary schooler reading, math, etc. then it doesn’t speak too highly of it, no?

Np. But there is a difference between having comprehension of reading, writing, etc., and having an educational background in the best/different methods to teach and transfer that knowledge. I don’t think it’s dissinilar to the professional world where some people are amazing individual contributors but the minute they have to manage it is a mess. Having the skills and being able to translfer / inspire them in others are two totally different skill sets. Obviously some people have both but it’s not a forgone conclusion by any means.

Constructively, I would say send your kid to school and use your income and time outside of work to enrich their education with experiences and activities that speak to you. [/quote]
