Might I suggest a coed self defense class, it will boost your self esteem and show a side of you to the opposite sex that you probably aren't even aware exists. It worked for my painfully shy and plain sister, she made many interesting friendships, both male and female, in this class (karate was actually her choice) and met her future husband there as well.
