Cash. Even Visa gift cards are a pain in the ass to use: I need to remember I have it, won't work in many online stores, etc.
I've had to stop giving the Visa and MC gift cards. I had been giving them to my nieces and nephews every year not realizing they were having difficulty using them. This year I'm giving cash as well as Uber gift cards. Millenials, let us know what you would love to receive from your older relatives.
You're a good relative! I know quite a few of my fellow left'y Millennials who won't use Uber, due to their recent scandals. They only use Lyft. Check with your younger relative if they are one of those types. Another option is to ask your Millennial relative if you can buy them a plane ticket for spring break to a fun destination with their friends. Also, travel booked with your airline miles is also appreciated. It requires some coordination (and delayed gratification), but I guarantee they will NEVER forget the trip or the fact that Aunt Sue bought them the airline ticket.
